Here is the most versatile variant of the Smith & Wesson Distinguished Combat Magnum Stainless, the 686-6 Stainless with round butt L-frame grip frame. Barrel is six inch full lug Stainless and it is a fully shrouded one piece barrel just like it was introduced in 1983. It comes with new replacement Pachmayr SK/GR Grips. This Sixth-Engineering-Change L Frame snub has the strengthened frame, beveled thumb latch, internal lock, and Case Colored MIM Hammer and Trigger with floating firing pin. Hammer is .375 serrated spur, and the trigger is .312 smooth combat. Hammer is flat face to mate the floating firing pin. This is the late version with 7 round cylinder capacity for 38 Special and .357 Magnum ammunition interchangeably. Construction, with the exception of selected internal parts and the sights, is entirely stainless steel. Sight configuration is Red Ramp front and white outline rear, fully windage and elevation adjustable. Weight empty is 44.9 ounces. The -6 variant not only has the classic Smith & Wesson transfer bar safety to prevent accidental firing from dropping or bumping, it is also equipped with Smith & Wesson's patented internal lock and two keys. The photo specimen is one of only three Talo special edition specimens we had, S&W SKU number was 150712, same as their 164198; only we replaced the Talo issue grips with Pachmayrs. All three revolvers are brand new, in their boxes with all their papers, locks, keys, and fired brass envelope dated from May of 2012.
