Here is Mossberg’s MVP chambered in .308 that accepts M1A / M14 Magazines. This is the 27738, Patrol Edition, with threaded muzzle and A2 Cage Muzzle Brake. Manufacturer and warrantor is O.F. Mossberg & Sons of New Haven, CT, and Eagle Pass, TX. Type is detachable magazine medium barrel bolt action high powered rifle. Construction is steel barrel assembly, bolt assembly, receiver, trigger, and internal parts with alloy scope mounts and magazine well assembly; and with polymer trigger guard. Chambering is .308 Winchester and 7.62x51 NATO interchangeably. Magazine is 10 shot factory Mossberg MVP, but this rifle will accept any M1A / M14 Magazine like the optional KCI 10 rounder in the photos [add any number only $16 per]. Barrel is 16 1/4 inch medium, 1:10 right hand six groove right hand button rifling; completely free floating. Muzzle is threaded 1/2 x 28 with a removable A2 Five Port Brake attached with a crush washer. Outside diameter is .805 at the muzzle end and .875 at the forend area. Metal finish is non glare matte blue, including the spiral fluted matte finish steel bolt. The MVP is Short Action, with a dead 4 1/8 inch screw spread across the action. Trigger is .240 steel LBA type with center set blade feature; pull is 3 pound vicinity with negligible to minimal felt creep or overtravel. Safety is very quiet, mounted on the right side behind the bolt handle. Stock is black textured finish hardwood. Studs are QD type blue steel. Length of pull is 13 1/2 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 1 inch rubber butt pad. Weight empty is 7 pounds 10 ounces.
