Smith N Wesson 44 D.A. First Model Russian was shipped from factory Sept. 3rd 1885 with a 6" BBL. It is a Double action with nickel finish. It is designed to fire the 44 S+W Russian CTG. The cylinder is 1 9/16" long, 6 shot. It has a V notch atop of the top break release for rear sight and a blade front sight. The hammer is checkered. The gun has nickel finish. The gun is completely engraved in the New york style. The style and pattern is of the "NIMSCHKE" school. It has Mother of Pearl stocks with round gold disc at top with the innertwined S+W monogram. There is a slight chip in the mother of pearl stock on the left side above the gold S+W disc. Markings on the left side of the BBL just foward of cylinder, "44 S+W CTG". On top of the barrel rib in two lines are the markings "Smith + Wesson Srpingfield Mass. U.S.A. Pat'd Jan. 17 & 24.65" / and "July 11.65 Aug 24 69 July 25 71 Dec 2.79 May 11 & 25 1880. The overall nickel finish is 98+% coverage. The overall condition and function is Excellent. Thank You For Bidding!
