Here is by far the sexiest configuration of all Winchester 1892 copies, at least among the ones priced under $1,000 apiece. This is Rossi's 92 Octagonal Blue 20 inch Barrel fitted into a beautiful color casehardened receiver. Caliber is .357 Magnum and .38 Special interchangeably with 1:30 right hand twist rifling. Photos show one of only three specimens we were able to get at a very attractive price due to politics between the current importer, Braztech, and the previous Importer, Legacy Arms. Import marks are from the latter, on the tang, behind the hammer. This variant of the 92 Rossi sports dark stained Brazilian hardwood stock and forend, with a casehardened, authentic steel buttplate like its higher grade ancestors. Receiver and forend cap are also casehardened. Overall length is a correct 37 1/2 inches; and weight empty is a well balanced 7.5 pounds. The principal difference between this and the originals is only the bolt safety, placed unobtrusively forward of the hammer.
