Description: Information is sparse and unreliable about the Miroku Revolvers, but collector interest in all things Japanese has increased over the past several years while Chinese made firearms and other items have flooded into the country. Marked on a firearm or rifle scope, Japan is to China and Turkey what Belgium used to be to Japan. This is one of only a modest number of Miroku Revolvers ever even manufactured, and even fewer actually made it into the United States. Dating, according to Fjiestad’s snippet, is up until 1964. We have records from 1957 on, but no time to examine them yet. This Miroku Revolver, also known as the Liberty Chief, has a 30,000 range serial number, so we estimate it was manufactured around 1962. Its chief detraction, as the photos show, is a missing hammer spur. Otherwise, however, it is mechanically sound. On a slow double action trigger pull, only on one cylinder position will the hammer break before the cylinder times. With normal pull, both in single and double action, the cylinder times correctly on all six. Lateral play to the cylinder is negligible, this is a very well fitted revolver. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Surface detractions are only moderate, moderate amounts of whitening here and there on the sharp edges. We estimate that 20 to 25 percent of its finish is affected, but photos should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Note the characteristic weakness to the checkering on the original walnut grip panels, mainly the right one. Note also the Colt styling to the cylinder release and ejector rod end; everything is looks pretty Smith-y. This is the first Miroku Revolver we’ve had in ten years, and one of fewer than ten we’ve had in the past 35 years or so. We will report back when our archival work gets farther along. In the meantime, we’re offering this well made, scarce Miroku .38 Special Revolver for only $ 289.95. Not C&R Eligible Yet. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
