Mec Gar magazines are the only magazines as good as, or better than, original factory mags. They lock the slides open like they're supposed to on the last shot; they free-fall eject correctly; and most important, they are always reliable, even with months of staying loaded. Mec Gar magazines are constructed of all steel springs, magazine bodies, and spring plates with high impact polymer followers. The buttplates to these genuine Mec Gar 14 round magazines for the Sig P-229 Pistol is Mec-Gar’s unique +2 extension made of high impact polymer. Factory code is MGP2294014AFC, rust-resistant phosphate finish. Each magazine holds 14 rounds of .40 S&W or .357 Sig caliber ammunition. They will only fit the P229 pistol with a double staggered magazine chambered in either or those two calibers. Here is what the factory says about their magazines. Mec Gar magazines are constructed from certified carbon steel and feature a heat treated housing and a hi-impact polymer or certified carbon steel follower and floorplate. To further complement this package, the surface is specially treated to ensure high corrosion resistance in black oxide. These are the best.
