Hi folks, up for sale is my new, unfired EDM Arms M99 Windrunner. Also known as the SS99, it is a high-precision .50BMG single-shot tactical rifle, designed to be taken down and backpacked in. I chose it because it is shorter and lighter than a M96, with a solid bottom receiver. Just toss in a cartridge and run the bolt home. Very accurate. No need to fiddle with heavy and expensive magazines, either. Otherwise, it is identical to the M96.
I had another M99 at my disposal and shot the FCSA .50BMG World Championship in Raton, New Mexico with it. I was really impressed with its accuracy. Before I started having scope mounting problems, I had the smallest group going at 1,000 yards in the Tactical class. What fun!
(Lesson: Get quality rings, torque them properly, and use Loctite!
And don't let anybody else do this for you, unless he's a gunsmith.)
I was also surprised by the mild recoil. Felt recoil was similar to a lightweight 12-Gauge shotgun but sharper. Less push, more punch. But not bad! The 30” fluted K&P barrel and new-style “shark-type” muzzle brake work well together.
The rifle is in factory new condition. No scratches or dings, nor a speck of rust. Other than scope and rings, this gun is ready to go. It comes with all the extras, (except the newer pivoting bipod option). I hate to sell this rifle but I have other .50’s, and my business needs an infusion of cash right now. Priced to sell. If I can meet those demands another way, I’ll keep the rifle. I have almost $7,500 into this package, but I’ll let it go for $3,600.
