Springfield Armory Model 1898 Krag-Jorgensen rifle, .30-40 Krag caliber in very good condition. Fine bore, clear cartouches - complete.
The Krag was the first widely issued bolt action rifle adopted by the US military, widely issued during the Spanish American War of 1898. Standard 30" barrel in 30-40 Krag with early type ladder sight graduated up to 1,800 yards. All sling and stacking swivels intact with bayonet lug located underneath front barrel band. Door for the cleaning kit in the stock works perfect. It's in great condition for its age.
This is from my late father’s collection; sorry I have no history on it – feel free to send me an email & I will send you all 21 pic’s OR I can take pictures/email them to you per your request.
If my memory serves me correctly; I think I might have shot this one with my dad about 35 years ago…he was a firm believer in only owning rifles that worked and able to shoot. He considered nonworking rifles as junk.
