Very powerful 45-70 but with little kick and is very accurate at long range. It has a blued finish and is the carbine version of the 1873 Sprinfield trapdoor that was government issued to General Custers men at Little Bighorn. Easy to load with the trapdoor. Almost idiot proof. This is one of my favorite rifles for its power and accuracy with its more compact size (carbine version) it feels kinda like a 30-30 Winchester to me but single shot. This lighter version weighs 7.3 lbs. case hardened breech block and butt plate. A- grade walnut stock with 22 inch barrel. I'm not a gun dealer and first time selling a gun online.
