Colt U.S. Model 1917 revolver by Colt serial #128568, 45 ACP, 5 1/2" barrel with an excellent bore. This 1917 manufactured revolver retains 99% original blue finish with some light scratches, a few oxidation blemishes, a light turn ring on the cylinder, and some very light silvering on the high edges. The smooth factory walnut grips are in excellent condition with some light dings, dents and scratches present. The revolver grips are correctly numbered to the gun and it has the correct Colt and Martial marking on the barrel, frame and cylinder. A near excellent condition M1917 holster for this revolver is included. The holster has some scattered light scuffs, scratches on the leather and Verdigris forming around the rivets. There is also a 1917 ammo clip pouch and a Model 1912 Mills Woven Cartridge Belt Co. pistol belt. The inside of the holster flap is ink marked "Lt. Edward L. Blake 336th Inf.". The rear of the ammo pouch is lightly marked with a different name. It is not known if this was Lt. Blake's issued revolver. This fine revolver locks up as tight as it did when arrived at a U.S. Army Ordnance Depot back in the Great War.
