Star, Bonifacio Echeverria S.A. of Eibar, Spain quickly caught the attention of Europe, the Middle East, and even the United States with their excellent quality pistols that went into production in 1934. Israeli Defense Forces had this one’s ancestor, the Star Model B, as one of their sidearms during the War for Independence in 1948. In 1983, the Star Model 28 competed favorably against the Beretta M9 for the US Military Contract, claiming its place as one of the original Wonder Nine pistols of the Reagan Era. This is the immediate predecessor to those US Field Trial Guns, the Model 28 DA steel frame; this one passed muster in the Land of Israel and served with distinction in the Mishteret Y’Israel, the Israeli Civilian Police in Jerusalem District, a 20,000 officer strong agency that has seen considerable latitude in its issue weapons. From its
300,000 range serial number it was manufactured in 1983, so it served during both Intifadas in the Land of Israel. This 28 DA does not bear a date code anywhere. Its only added marking is the importer stamp on the right forward edge of the frame, as the photos show. Specs are traditional double and single action semi-auto pistol. Caliber is 9mm Parabellum / 9mm Luger / 9x19 / call it what you will, THE 9mm. Action is cammed blowback with one piece steel guide rod that has a completely enclosed spring. Barrel is 3 7/8 inch 6 groove right hand twist conventional rifling, made to fire any 9mm ammunition from Indonesian Steel Case to Lead bullet reloads to Federal Premium match grade. Construction is entirely steel: slide, barrel, hammer housing assembly and parts anchored into a matte blue steel frame. Slide to frame fit is excellent, and there is full length contact between slide rails and frame rails. Safety is ambidextrous slide mounted, not a decocker; this pistol will carry cocked and locked. Trigger is wide steel smooth faced .400 combat, with .308 wide Commander style hammer. Sights are milled serrated integral front ramp with dovetailed in Windage adjustable dot blade rear. Weight empty is 38.6 ounces. This one has its original magazine, 15 round steel. Smith & Wesson 59 / 5900 magazines work in these very well, but a person has to remove the magazine safety for them to work. This one’s is intact. Surface detractions are only moderate, mostly moderate broning on the grip frame front- and back-straps, with edge whitening here and there. We rate this one as Very Good, since no more than 20 percent of its surfaces are affected in our estimation; photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Pistol in the photo is the pistol that the buyer will receive. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Own this eminently serviceable, attractive, and collectable Star 9mm for only $ 349.00. Not transferable to civilians in California, District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. For civilian buyers in jurisdictions where 15 round magazines are restricted, $20 off with no magazine, or we will remove the magazine safety and sub a Smith & Wesson 10 rounder. Includes Chicago, Hawaii, New York, and Puerto Rico.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
