Here is a very attractive Smith & Wesson 5906 Stainless 9mm in its best form. From its VAV serial number prefix, it was manufactured in 1995 or 1996; and it comes with a total of two Ban Period 15 shot magazine LE, Law Enforcement, Magazines. This 5906 has served and protected our fellow Americans during its career, and it has been well maintained and not abused. It has been professionally refinished to matte stainless, and residual surface scours from its law enforcement career are minimal, mostly some whitened scouring on the sights, hammer and trigger. Specs are traditional double action; that is, the ambidextrous safety serves as both a main safety and a decocking lever, and this pistol goes to single action after the first shot, or after the operator manually cocks the hammer with the safety off. The 5906, of course, also has an internal firing pin safety and a magazine safety. This one has new replacement Hogue grips, the most comfortable and surest gripping of all available grips. Sights are Novak 3 dot fixed red dot sights, drift adjustable for windage only; but all of the thousands of these we've sold have been point of aim in experienced shooters' hands. Note the superb muzzle configuration of the stainless barrel, where it locks into battery consistently every shot and produces match grade accuracy. Trigger is .304 smooth combat, and hammer is .260 spurred for single or double action shooting. Both are black anodized, and they match the sights. Weight empty is 38 ounces; this pistol, after all, is entirely stainless except for the anodized sights, hammer, and trigger. This pistol comes furnished in a new S&W Factory blue box with factory red cable lock and instruction manual. Replacement price on the last ones of these made in 2005 and 2006 was over $700 apiece.
