One occasion is firing hundreds of rounds on the range with dirty-burning reloaded shells. Another occasion is waterfowl hunting where there is plenty of mud. Not only do civilians encounter conditions where a spare complete trigger group is handy, so do peace officers, from the Everglades to the dusty deserts of California and Arizona. Here are complete, operational trigger – hammer – shell carrier assemblies for the Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun, all variants, from the 870 Express to the 870P. These assemblies were completely rebuilt and refinished by competent armorers. They simply drop in to any 12 gauge 870 receiver, an easy task in the field or on the range. Residual surface wear is minimal to moderate, just old pre-finish scouring on the trigger guard that is not conspicuous. We rate them as Excellent / Refinished, photos are accurate and representative. Note that most of these have slotted shell carriers, a few have solid sheet carriers. Replacement pricing on one of these sets is normally $100 apiece.
