Bore shows some roughness, but is bright and shiny with sharp rifling and in excellent condition for it's age. Perfect mechanics and good lock-up - metal is excellent with no rust or pitting other than one small rust spot on the edge of the upper tang. Carbine retains about 40% blue overall, mostly drifted to a gray-brown patina. Original carbine sights. Wood is sound and solid with about 80% finish and shows some dings and scratches from normal use and handling. The brass lifter appears to have been lightly buffed and has a name nicely inscribed below the .44 Cal. mark....all markings are sharp and clear - a very crisp old 1873 SRC !
