Serial number on this one places it at 1st or 2nd year of production. The stock has been refinished, in my opinion. Metal appearance is overall excellent, but whoever owned it must have had very acidic sweat, because the bluing looks faded on the trigger guard (see photo). Wood is very nicely figured.
Due to the refinishing and fading of blue on trigger guard, I rate this rifle at 95% - but the gun really looks excellent. Internally, it appears to have been shot very little (parts with little wear, etc). Trigger is adjustable, as good as any XXII I have seen.
There is no pitting, rust, significant scratches through finish of metal. Wood has one small mark on left rear of buttstock (see photo).
A good, solid XXII at a bargain price. Scope and rings not included.
Pick either 5 shot or 10 shot magazine. If you want both, add $35. If you want the rings, add $50 (Leupold).
