Description: Serial number for this S&W .38 Chief’s Special Stainless, numbered model 60 with no suffix, has a BAU letter prefix, so it was manufactured early in 1988. It comes to us from the Estate of Gibson County Tennessee’s original cable guy, who installed and traded until his retirement in the early 1990s. This is a fully traditional Smith & Wesson .38 Chief’s Special Stainless, numbered Model 60. It has no model number suffix. Barrel is 1 7/8, commonly referred to as 2 inch Snub, one piece with integral serrated blade front sight that matches the standard fixed notch rear. Construction is entirely stainless steel, with satin stainless .240 serrated spur service hammer and matching .240 smooth face combat service trigger. Capacity is 5 rounds of .38 Special caliber ammunition. Type is small, J frame double and single action revolver with transfer bar internal safety device, weight empty is 19 3/8 ounces. Grips are period correct Sile Finger Groove Combat. Surface detractions to this 60 are minimal, only faint cylinder rotation marking and two or three small inconspicuous holster contact buffs. We rate it as Excellent, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically. Cylinder times correctly in all five positions on both single and double action. Single action trigger pull measures a crisp 4 1/4 pounds with no felt creep. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel’s forcing cone is negligible, not really distinguishable from the mill marks on that surface. We have not cleaned its cylinder face, and from the absence of any significant amount of carbon deposits, and from our knowledge of its late owner, we do not believe this Chief was fired more than 20 or 30 times. We’re offering this pristine Model 60, made in the final Year of President Reagan’s term, for only $ 489.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $12 lower 48; $40 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
