Here is a very nice 51 year old Beretta Over and Under 12 gauge. It is a very nice handling, very light over/under that weighs in at only 7 3/4 pounds on our postal scale. Original bluing is very strong throughout, with moderate handling wear on the lever edge, safety, and edges of the lower receiver area and trigger guard. Wood has very strong original glossy finish, with moderate scouring and streaks few of which penetrate the finish. We rate this shotgun as Very Good finishwise, around 80-85 percent; photos, however, should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. Chambers are excellent. Both tubes have faint etchy streaking forward of the chambers that extends for 6 inches or so, and only 20 – 30 degrees worth of tube surface is affected, out of 360 degrees. The forward 21-22 inches of bore are bright, clean, and excellent in both tubes. Upper tube constriction is a very tight .675 full, and the lower tube is .685, tighter than most Improved Modifieds. Chambering is 2 ¾ inch, and the barrels measure 30 inches. Front sight is original aperture peep style, unusual but highly effective for rapid clay target or game bird acquisition. Barrels are High Strength Chromium Molybdenum Steel, and so marked. Serial number is B043xx, and the date code is XIV, 1958. Triple Magnum Pachmayr Pad is recently and professionally installed at our request, since the BL-2s can produce recoil fatigue due to their lightness, even with Super Light trap loads. Length of pull is a long-armed 14 1/2 inches, measured from the trigger to the extreme length of the pad. The absence of a rib was normal until the 1970s, and this shotgun will hold its own in competition against much younger and much pricier descendants and siblings. It is single trigger with selective safety, and it is excellent mechanically. We're offering it for only $ 879.95
