This rifle is in nice mechanical condition, but has some small superficial scratches here and there on both the steel and the wood. Apart from that, the finish on wood and steel is in very nice shape. No rust. Original steel blue rates better than 99% (the aluminum magazine has finish wear, as described later). This rifle appears to have been very little used. Slight marks here and there were more likely the result of less than perfect care in storing and handling it over the years. What appears in the picture to be a rather severe ding in the forearm stock is a gross exaggeration of reality created by a weird light reflection. It's actually a very small pressure mark in that spot that you can hardly see without close inspection. Overall impression is that of a nice rifle in nice shape (most blemishes are small), as you need to look somewhat carefully to see the occasional superficial marks. The most evident imperfection is on the metal surface of the magazine, which appears to have had some wear on the forward portion and an effort to spot-reblue. Buckhorn style adjustable sights. Bore excellent. Buyer pays shipping.
