No visiable SS# No makers name. From a local estate sale, a custom built 22 Hornet cal. bolt action rifle. At the sale the seller told me his dad had the gun custom built in the 1950's and although he had never shot it his dad said it was the most accurate rifle he ever owned. The son didn't know who built it, didn't know what kind of barrel it was or what kind of receiver it was made on (neither do I) but it was a beautiful job, the builder was a true artist as everything has a perfect fit and finish. The smooth action is tight, the receiver has a tang saftey and a 5 round removable clip. Both receiver and 24" barrel have a royal blue finish and the barrel has no holes for iron sights as well as a great bore. The gun also has a great trigger. The high grade walnut stock has no chips or cracks and only a few light handeling marks. The LOP is 13 3/4" and has a very nice butt plate and grip cap (see photos). Besides excellent checkering it has a piece of wood inlayed the full lenght of the belly of the stock with black inlays at each end, a black nose cap and white diamond inlays on each side (see photos). The rifle is topped with and old style steel tube Weaver K4 scope with good optics and target fine cross hairs, mounted on Weaver bases with Weaver rings. Overall this is a beautiful custom gun from an age when "custom" really ment something. Satisfaction guaranteed (see my feedback). We trade guns.Cashiers check or money order only.
