This gun is a classic 1911-A1 Government model built as only Colt can, factory-finished in this Limited Edition with key enhancements, starting with the tuned, smooth, and reliable Series 70 lockwork, vastly preferred by most shooters over the sluggish triggers of the later Series 80. Accuracy comes from the National Match barrel, crisp trigger, light commander-style hammer, and tight lock up--there is NO (zero) play in the slide in battery. The dovetailed, low-mount Novak notch rear and brass-bead blade front sights produce an excellent sight picture. 25 LPI checkering on the front strap along with the deep grooves on the straight mainspring housing ensure a firm grip. The undercut trigger guard, extended beavertail, and grip-safety memory bump positions the hands high for effective control. The rest of the gun is pure, classic Colt. Finish is rich & even black, lustrous semi-gloss on the flats and matte on the contours like the slide top. The dark, figured walnut stocks are checkered in the traditional double-diamond pattern. The extractor is internal, and the ejection port is enlarged. The supplied 8-rd Colt mag is stainless although the gun will take any standard Gov't Model mag.
