Item is a Kar98k German infantry rifle captured and arsenal-converted to .30-'06 by Norway after WWII.
Rifle was manufactured at Mauser-Oberndorf (code 42) in 1940. Stock is not marked but appears to be the original laminated one with flat buttplate. I added the new repro sling.
This example wss issued to the Norwegian Army(HAER). Bolt and safety do not match the rest of the rifle. The stock has arsenal repairs and reinforcing dowels in the wrist area behind the receiver. All waffenamts are intact but original serial number was lined out. Barrel appears bright, strong rifling. I've shot this rifle at the range using Greek HXP surplus and it functions flawlessly.
