High Grade WW Greener 12 bore damascus, non-ejector. Facile Princeps F2(?)or F8(?) boxlock. Excellent 30-inch fine damascus barrels with shiny bores having .010 and .040 chokes. No dents or repairs to barrels. Nice brownish damascus pattern. Beautiful wood with no cracks, no repairs and no major dings. Gun is tight and on face. Moderately scroll engraved throughout. Cast for a right hander. 14 1/2" LOP, 1 3/4" drop at comb, 2 1/4" drop at heel. Original 2 1/2-inch chambers. Out of black powder proof at 13 bore, but retains very heavy barrels with wall thickness of .037 right and .036 left at six inches behind muzzles with bores of .739 and .736 at nine inches ahead of chambers. This is a high quality gun with horn butt plate, horn fore end tip, horn inlays at wrist, highly figured wood and very fine checkering. Presumably a pigeon gun with the heavy barrels and tight choking. South Africa import stamp on barrel flats. A wonderful example of British gun making, circa 1895. Cased in a period leather trunk case.
