Ser. #70 93XXX puts date of manufacture at 1970. Two things: First, there is a very small area of light freckling just behind the ejection port. I can't make it show up in the pics. You can see it up close, but can't feel it with your fingers. Second, I removed the Marshield finish and applied four coats of hand rubbed tung oil. This brought out the beauty of the grain in the walnut stocks and it looks & feels like a piece of fine furniture. Bore is perfect, no bluing loss anywhere, no buggered screws, and absolutely no mechanical issues. This is a 99% condition gun made by Marlin, NOT Remington.
