All factory magazines for the past several years shipped with Browning Pistols, and most of the Sigs, have been Mec-Gar brand. Colt has never acknowledged Mec-Gar as of yet by using them as a magazine subcontractor. Nevertheless, Mec-Gar magazines are the only magazines as good as, or better than, original factory mags. They lock the slides open like they're supposed to on the last shot; they free-fall eject correctly; and most important, they are always reliable, even with months of staying loaded. Mec-Gar magazines are constructed of all steel springs, magazine bodies, and spring plates with high impact polymer followers and polymer or steel buttplates. The buttplates to these genuine Mec-Gar 8 round magazines for all Colt Government / 1911 type pistols are classic polymer, virtually identical to those on the Sig P-220 pistols. They are, as the photos show, higher-than-standard 8 round capacity magazines with bright blue steel bodies. Factory code is MGCG4508BPF. These are the best. Their close cousins are good enough for Sig Arms. These aren't easy to come by, either. We're offering these fine magazines each for only $ 22.00.
