HG3537 This Pistol is Not C&R Eligible. Research and history on AMT Pistols is quite dismal. The OMC Backup made its debut in the Early Reagan Years, and the tooling was quickly purchased by Arcadia Machine Tool, first operating in Irwindale, then in Covina, California. The OMC, later AMT, Backup deserves credit for being the grandfather of all truly compact .380 Automatics. This specimen of the AMT Backup was manufactured in 1987, from its similarly serialized siblings we bought new from Mr. George Hoferkamp that year, B176xx. Letter A prefix serialization began sometime around midyear 1987. This AMT comes to us from one of our South Mississippi friends. Surface detractions are only moderate, just holster and pocket buffing to the rough matte surfaces on top of the slide, and on its edges. We rate it as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity; photos, however, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. The Backups, like most other autos of the period, were not designed to digest sharp nosed hollowpoints; with a .380 pistol, hollowpoints defeat the purpose anyway, that purpose being the need for penetration in defensive situations. Type is single action blowback cycled semi-automatic; construction of stainless steel; finish cast matte with brushed stainless, serrated slide sides; milled groove sight picture with integral low profile protected front sight; European style butt mounted magazine release; six round steel magazine with black polymer follower and cast stainless steel finger rest floorplate; weight empty 17.4 ounces; 2 5/8 inch stainless barrel with parallel stainless steel guide rod; overall length 5 inches from the muzzle to the rear edge of the grip frame; height 4 inches including the finger rest; slide thickness .790. This pistol comes with a slick, custom made South Mississippi leather pocket filler type holster. We’re offering this attractive, serviceable and collectable AMT .380 Backup for only $ 289.00. Not transferable to civilians in California, District of Colombia, Massachusetts, or New York City. Freight paid lower 48 if we keep the holster.

Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
