Wells Fargo & Co. subsequently acquired and marked it. The Wells Fargo mark is the rarer of the two in use at the time. At some point in its early history, the front sight and original grips were replaced. The gun appears to have had no parts replaced or altered except as mentioned above. It has been checked by a gunsmith and has been fired recently. It is being sold in its current condition, as a collectible antique only. Especially because of the type of Wells Fargo mark, the revolver would be an excellent purchase for a collector. The gun will be shipped with three .45 Schofield dummy cartridges (brass casing and lead bullet, no powder or primer). Shipping cost is included in the purchase price.
