Always conservative, Sturm, Ruger & Company waited until 1986 to follow the full lug revolver trend that Smith & Wesson popularized with its L frames beginning in 1980. Here is one of the last specimens of the toughest standard heavy barrel revolver ever produced in the United States, the Ruger Speed Six. This one's serial number prefix is 160, and it dates to President Reagan’s Reelection Year, 1984. It has new replacement Pachmayr RSS-C Grips, but their configuration is period correct. Factory specs are double- and single-action revolver; 2 3/4 inch heavy barrel with shrouded ejector rod; 7 groove serrated solid rib with pin-on black ramp front sight and fixed notch rear sight; entirely stainless steel construction with steel round butt grip frame; six shot cylinder capacity, .38 Special +P capability; .350 smooth combat trigger and .300 cleated spur service hammer; internal transfer bar safety mechanism; floating firing pin; weight 35 7/8 ounces empty. This specimen has only moderate holster buffing and duty scuffing on its edges and left side. We grade it as a strong Very Good, perhaps even Excellent specimen finishwise, since we estimate that 85 to 90 percent of its original finish is unaffected. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is moderate, only a shallow etchy streak across the width of the top strap. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a tight .004. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels an additional 15 degrees after the cylinder times in all six positions. On single action, the hammer travels an additional 35 degrees on all six, and the single action trigger pull measures a crisp 4 3/4 pounds with no felt creep effect. Lateral play to the cylinder is negligible, less than 1mm total by our estimate, with the trigger relaxed; and with the trigger pulled movement is even less. These revolvers are very hard to come by; we've only gotten five or six a year for the past twenty years. This specimen is attractive, collectable, and eminently serviceable. We're offering this one for only $ 419.95 Not transferable to civilians in California, D.C., or Massachusetts.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
