Up for auction is a Mosin-Nagant, 91/30, hex receiver, 1932 production, with scope, new sling, muzzle brake, and cleaning rod. This rifle is in great condition: the blonde stock has only 1 small arsenal repair, and that is a 1/2" x 3" wood repair at the muzzle end just in front of the barrel band. Other than that, the wood is flawless. And the blonde color is rare, but quite attractive. As you know, the hex receivers on the Mosins are highly desirable because they were produced before wartime exigencies forced many short-cuts and stop-gaps. This one is stamped 1932 under the 2x7, long eye-relief, variable power scope that greatly improves long range accuracy. The scope mounts to the rear sight block with simple tension screws and locating pins. Although simple, it is quite rigid and will hold "zero" without difficulty. The muzzle brake up front not only adds forward weight to the rifle to replace the spike bayonet (the rifle was intended to be shot with the bayonet attached), but it greatly reduces recoil and muzzle rise. The muzzle brake makes an amazing difference in the feel and "shootability" of the rifle. The rifle has had a deep cleaning in which both bolt and barrel were soaked and scrubbed out with solvent, followed with a polishing with JB's bore cleaner. After which, the bore was examined, and it showed minimal wear: I doubt that the rifle saw much battlefield action; more likely it was in the hands of rear echelon troops. In any case, it is in great condition. It comes with a new sling and "dog collars" and the spike bayonet is also available, if desired. Obviously, it can't be mounted with the muzzle brake attached, but would make a complete "kit." If you would like the ammo pouches that go with the rifle, those are available at a slight upcharge.
