Our poor memory does not avail us to remember whether this barrel came to us with its parent shotgun. The last light 20 we traded for was a 1990 specimen equipped with the Invector System. Since this barrel is non-tubed Improved Cylinder, we interpret the 4 M characters on the under side chamber area as 1984 production, 1980 at the earliest. We will not bother Professor Corson at the Barrel University of Tempe on this one. Here is a very nice extra barrel to fit any Browning Auto Five, Light 20 shotgun. Length is 26 inches, Ventilated Rib, with a .597 internal muzzle diameter Improved Cylinder choke. Surface detractions to its bright blue finish are minimal to moderate, principally a white streak on the left side surface over the chamber. Otherwise there is a small white streak on the right side where the rib raises, and minimal amounts of whitening on the rib edge. We rate this barrel as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, 85 to 90 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and ejector mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Replacement pricing on a new Auto Five Barrel is in the $500 - $600 range in our area of the country, if a person can even find one.
