This is a collector grade WWII Remington 1903A3 Caliber 30-06. The collector purchased this rifle in the early 1960’s from the DCM/NRA program then put the rifle into his collection until it was recently purchased in an estate sale. Rifle was manufactured by Remington in October of 1943. It went through a post WWII arsenal rework at the Ogden arsenal depot as shown by the OG stamp on the side of the stock. This 1903A3 apparently only went through a light rework as it appears to have maintained most of it original parts except perhaps the cocking piece on the bolt. The rifle has not been broken down to check for ID on internal parts. Bore is in like new condition. Stock is also in like new condition with no cracks. The Remington RA and cross cannon ordinance wheel stamps are present on the stock as well as the FJA stamp of ordinance inspector Frank J. Atwood. Front sight, sling swivels are Remington as well as the butt plate. Barrel bands have no markings as is correct for Remington. Bolt handle is Remington stamped as well as the extractor collar which has a faint Remington stamp. Safety is Remington marked. Barrel is Remington RA stamped with ordinance flaming bomb. Barrel date is September 1943. WWII Remington 1903A3’s in this condition are getting hard to find. Not import marked. Rifle would make a good addition to any collection are an excellent shooter. Rifle can be sold on a Curio and Relic ffl. Credit cards 3.2%. Many additional photos on request.
