Description: Here is a classic Smith & Wesson K-38 Combat Masterpiece manufactured in 1971, from its 1K43000 range serial number. It is a Bangor Punta era, pinned barrel specimen, model 15-3. Specifications are 4 inch serrated rib barrel with black ramp front sight and black blade adjustable rear sight; Square butt grip frame serrated fore and aft; .500 Color Casehardened serrated Target Trigger and matching Target Hammer; magna style factory Goncalo service grips; six shot capacity; 32 5/8 ounces weight empty. Action, of course, is traditional double- and single-action with internal transfer bar safety mechanism. This 15-3 was the service weapon of our first full time African American police officer in our little county, who served from 1971 until his retirement in the 1980s. Its owner was also a distinguished Veteran of the United States Navy. This Model 15 has moderate holster and handling wear. There are moderate amounts of whitening on the muzzle area of the barrel, on the cylinder surfaces, and on the edges and here and there. Magna grips are original issue factory Walnut. We classify this Model as Very Good, 75 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, however, should suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Blast effect to the underside of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is minimal, only a thin etchy crease that traverses about 3/4 of the width of the top strap. Double action trigger pull is tight but consistent, and the hammer travels an additional 5 degrees in double action after the cylinder times in all six positions. On single action, the hammer travels an additional 25 degrees on all six after timing, and the single action trigger pull is an exceptionally crisp 2 5/8 pounds. Lateral play to the cylinder is minimal, both with the trigger relaxed and with it fully depressed. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap measures .008. We estimate that this revolver has been fired fewer than 1,500 rounds in its entire career, all with standard .38 Special ammunition. We're offering this attractive, collectable, and eminently serviceable Smith & Wesson Model 15 from 1971 for only $ 459.00. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
