Ready to ship, buy it now! The Winchester Model 88 was unlike any previously manufactured lever-action. It's design is essentially a lever-bolt action hybrid. A short-throw lever operated a three-lug rotating bolt, rounds were fed vertically from a detachable box magazine. This "bolt-action" feature in a "lever-action" allowed for the use of high-powered modern short-case cartridges with spitzer bullets. The Model 88 is the third largest selling lever action rifle in Winchester's production history. It has accumulated a large share of devoted enthusiasts for many generations and is still an exceptionally unique and reliable design even to this day.
