Description: From its C 718000 range serial number, this Smith & Wesson .38 Special Military & Police, numbered model 10-5, was manufactured in 1964. Our records are not prefixed, but we have a 400,000 range revolver from 1963. Franzite Grips are period correct and configured like the Smith & Wessons they were copying, Diamond checkered walnut. This is a very nice Model 10, and its barrel length, 6 inches, goes far toward explaining why it is in such nice condition. As far as we can trace it, it belonged to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department in California, and the six inchers are not as easy to carry, especially in a patrol car. Surface detractions only amount to faint small amounts of whitening on the muzzle area, one small place on the left side of the barrel, and minimal places here and there on its sharp edges. From the looks of the cylinder face and the under side of the top strap directly above the barrel’s forcing cone, we do not believe this Model 10 has been fired more than 50 rounds, if that many. Even cylinder rotation marking is minimal. Color casehardened finish to the .265 serrated service trigger and matching hammer is full strength. We rate this 6 inch 10 as Excellent, since no more than 10 percent of its surfaces are affected by contact evidence. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. We’re offering this 1964 golden oldie for only $ 389.95. Not transferable to civilians in California, D.C., or Massachusetts. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Handguns: $15 flat fee shipping to the lower 48 states; $20 to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
