It has a Springfield receiver, serial number 5803-xxx, dating to 1955. The barrel on this Garand is excellent-throat erosion and muzzle erosion both measure 1 1/2. We have included photos with the gauges in (see below). Barrel is marked SA, Jan 55. Bore looks great. Standard government stock, with stars and eagle and circle P. There are no cracks. The rear handguard has a gouge, see photos. Minor dings otherwise. All wood matches in color and grain. The trigger group is Springfield, with a stamped guard. The appearance of the trigger group in photos is due to heavy grease, we didn’t want to remove it. The op rod is Beretta, piston crown exceptionally good condition. Metal parts have almost all finish, nice appearance The CMP certificate with the serial number is included. Original owner's name has been blacked out.
