Here is the smallest current production .40 S&W pistol that we know of, Taurus’s PT740 Slim Frame. Its .40 S&W Caliber chambering qualifies it for the nickname Pocket Rocket. Manufacturer is Forjas Taurus of Porto Alegre, Brazil. Importer and warrantor is Taurus International of Miami. Type is striker fired, locked breech semi-automatic. Construction is steel barrel, slide, internal parts, and magazine built into a steel reinforced high impact polymer frame. Barrel is 3.2 inch stainless steel, six groove right hand 1:16 rifling, that cams downward with its polished ramp for smooth feeding. Slide is upper contoured matte stainless with seven lateral rear serrations and loaded chamber indicator. Sights are 3 dot configuration polymer, stake on dot front with windage and elevation adjustable low profile two dot rear. Sight radius is 5 1/4 inches. Slide and frame thickness is only .98 inch at the port. Trigger is .360 serrated face polymer with center safety. Trigger pull is a uniform 7 pound vicinity with 3/4 inch travel, and a Taurus’s trigger resets itself unlike competitors Smith & Wesson and Glock. Safety features include a firing pin safety, lever safety, center trigger safety, and Taurus patented keyed lock. The internal lock is positioned on the right side of the slide, beside the rear sight, as the photos show. Magazine is 6 round steel ported, with orange follower and black polymer floorplate. Overall length is 6 1/16 inches from the muzzle to the grip frame strut area; and height from the top of the low profile rear sight to the bottom of the magazine floorplate is only 4 1/2 inches. Each Taurus 740 comes in its factory box with two keys for its lock, protective bag, and instruction manual that includes Taurus’s famous lifetime warranty. The Smith & Wesson Shield commands prices in the $500 vicinity. Kel-tec swore off the .40 S&W caliber a decade ago. We’re offering the brand new Taurus PT740 in the photos, or one of its identical mates, for only $ 289.00. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
