While most DPMS rifles go for nearly a thousand or more, the Lite 16 A3 was intended for those looking for a good first AR-15. It comes with a standard A2-style front sight but no rear sight, allowing the shooter to choose whether they want to use a flip up rear sight or a scope. Both options have a great deal of variety. There are many types of rear sight, but there are far more options available for scopes. The 16” heavy barrel (HBAR) is made of 4140 Chromemoly, while the upper and lower receivers are made of 7075-T6 aluminum. The barrel uses a 1:9 twist rate. The stock and handguard are unique to DPMS, rather than the standard style found on most Ars, and this gives DPMS AR-15s a recognizable appearance. The rifle comes with a 30-round magazine and a gun clock and key. This rifle is new in the box.
