SS# 3xxx From a mid-west estate sale a WWII Japanese Military issue rifle with intact mum, Mono-pod, Aircraft Sights, war time currency and Japanese soldiers war time photos. I don't know how to tell the cal. but it is either 6.5 or 7.7. (sorry I don't know what model this gun is)However at the sale they said this was a Type 99 Tokyo Kogyo and was 7.7 cal. but I have no way to authenticate this. The wood stock is in good condition with no cracks or chips however it has lots of dents and dings from war time use. The butt plate is made of metal, the mum is unground and the mono-pod and aircraft sights are complete (see photos). The metal finish is OK with a lot of the original finish in tact on the receiver and the 26" barrel (see photos). I am not a collector or an expert and know very little about this type of gun (therefore I took photos of every mark or stamp I could find on the outside of the gun but don't know how to take it apart). At the sale the only other information about the gun was that it belonged to a WWII vet that was a friend of the family but they did not know who the soliders were in the photos. Although I have not shot this gun, it appears to function perfectly but has a dark bore (I have not cleaned it). The gun came with then Japanese currency (which I also know nothing about), and two photos. (see photos). We trade guns. Satisfaction guaranteed (see my feedback).
