Here is a clean, serviceable Marlin .30-30 from President Reagan's Election Year, 1980. This rifle is a Veteran of the West Tennessee Deer Woods, and it shows extensive moderate weathering and handling indications. It is, nevertheless, solid as a rock and clean as a pen. Forend and buttstock are the original walnut, and while the forend is down to its natural oil, there are no cracks in either piece of wood. Buttstock has one actual scratch on the left side of the pistol grip, and extensive scours and weathering. Metal has moderate whitening on the muzzle edges, bands, and sharp edges of the receiver and lever. There are two white weathered spots on the receiver's left side, and a fair amount of dark etchy spotting. Still, the original bluing is very strong, 80 percent strength by our estimate. Wear to the forward area of the loading gate where the cartridge go in is only moderate. This rifle has been hunted with on many, many occasions in the past 29 years, but we estimate it has been fired fewer than 200 rounds in its life. Scope is a period correct Taiwanese Tasco, made before that company moved their operations to Korea in the mid 1980s, and well before Tasco succumbed to the Chinese siren. Scope has edge wear, but lenses are clear and show no signs of any scouring. Mounts are early wide Kwik-Site, unmarked. Note that the original hammer spur is intact. While this rifle will only rate Very Good finishwise by our estimate, it is excellent mechanically. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are bright, clean, and excellent. We're offering this attractive, serviceable Marlin .30-30 for only $ 389.00
