LG2644 From the estate of one of our first and best professional white barbecue chefs from Jacks Creek, Tennessee, comes this attractive, serviceable Remington 552 ADL Speedmaster semi-auto. C D date code identifies it as part of April 1957 production, given that it was never serialized. It is part of the First Year of Production, and early in the year at that. Surface wear is moderate to extensive. Original Walnut stock and forend show extensive scouring, but the original semi-glossy finish is still majority strength, about 70 percent on the buttstock by our estimate. Forend has a 2 1/2 inch hairline crack underside next to the receiver. This has been glassed over, and we do not detect any separation. The heel of the buttstock has a small piece of its heel missing, as the photos show. Swivel studs are incorrectly but securely embedded. Metal surfaces show extensive, mostly edge whitening on the lightweight alloy receiver and trigger guard. Barrel and magazine tube have strong original bluing; but they show extensive etchy spotting and some brown toning. We rate this 552 ADL Remington as Very Good, 70 percent vicinity by our estimate; but photos should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Barrel is the longer, older style 24 inch with 17 rounds of shorts capability in the magazine. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Sights are standard ADL topped blade front and gloss black anodized leaf-and-step rear. Replacement price on the only available descendant, the 552 BDL, is $600 or more in our area, if a person can even find one, and it is the last man standing for autos capable of handling .22 Shorts. Since it is a first year specimen, our photographer wants to have it refinished to original and keep it, but he was taken aback at the $300 price tag to get that done. We're offering this attractive, eminently serviceable, and collectable 1957 First-Year Remington 552 Speedmaster for only $ 269.95.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Long Guns: $20 flat fee lower 48 states; $50 to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
