Move over, CCI Stinger; here is a superior product. This is the Federal #724, Game-Shok .22 Long Rifle cartridge with 31 grain copper coated hollow point. This little Federal generates 141 foot pounds of muzzle energy and 1430 feet per second velocity from rifles. True, the energy and velocity fall about 20 percent short of the Stinger's advertised ballistics. But that is not the entire consideration here, not for any and all cases. If a person has a Ruger firearm, the advantage is to the stinger. That is not true, however, with other revolvers and small autos. If a person has a Smith & Wesson, Taurus, or Beretta handgun the clear advantage is to the Federal cartridge. That is because Federal primers are easier to ignite in firearms whose firing pin impression may not be a strong as a Ruger's. This is particularly crucial for small firearms, the Smith & Wesson Air Lite, the Taurus 94s both Ultra Light and Steel Frame, and the little Beretta Model 21 autos. We know from experience that the Beretta 21s have trouble with the too-long case on the Stinger, not a problem with these standard case length Federal Game-Shok. The same holds true for Colt revolvers and Walther autos. So, if you're using a Ruger, shop on and by all means scarf up on CCI Stingers. But for most other brand handgun users, you'll be much more certain of ignition with these Federals. These observations come from 25 years of feedback from dozens of our local customers. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges.
