Thus, this is a Model 66 with a heavy frame,, a 4 inch heavy barrel with a full length ejector rod housing.. This revolver came along just as the switch from revolvers to automatics began and so is little used.It has excelent bore and function. The original grips and finish are 100% condition.. A set of factory Medallion, Goncalo Alves target, grip panel grips help absorb the recoil. Adjustable sights with RRWO assure fine accuracy. The factory trigger pull is very smooth and crisp. The combat trigger is smooth to encourage double action trigger pull.. Even though this 686was made May of 1991 the finish and function appear new. One could easily use this bull strong revolver with one's choice of .357 ammunition to defend one's self and home place. A real piece of quality revolver workmanship at a reasonable price. Stainless steel and wood like the old days prior to plastic ant spray and pray.. Yeah, I'm getting to be a 0ld sort, I pinned on my first badge in June 1978 and it's either a 1911 or a steel revolver.
