BRAND NEW Ivan's Hammer "Premier Grade" Clip-Fed Pump-Action Tactical 12 Gauge w/ 3.0" Chamber SBS ( short barreled shotgun ) These unique weapons were created by C&S Metall-Werkes of St. Charles, MO after soliciting input from several SWAT units. C&S built a trial batch of twelve Ivan's Hammers by highly modifying a Russian manufactured Baikal IZH-81KM clip-fed Police/Military 12 gauge shotgun.
The SWAT teams had requested C&S create a breaching weapon small enough to be practically carried in conjunction with their primary weapon. However, the SWATs also wanted the breaching shotgun to be able to stand on it's own if their primary weapon malfunctioned.
After designing the Hammer to exceed those criteria, C&S realized that the cost of the extensive labor necessary to modify the Baikal shotguns exceeded the potential for profitable LE sales and permanently discontinued production of the Hammer. Simultaneously, Baikal also stopped producing the IZH-81KM and only a few Baikals ( maybe 100 total ) ended up being imported to the US. Given those factors, it is highly unlikely that any more Hammers will ever be produced -- making the these weapons instant collectibles -- especially the Premier Grade !
Due to the clip-fed operation, the Hammer is an extremely compact unit with a 9.5" barrel and an overall length of only 19.0" ( just slightly longer than a Serbu Super Shorty shotgun ). Because of its size and the ability of the user to select a magazine loaded with the perfect type of 12 gauge ammunition to accomplish the task at hand, the Hammer makes for both a practical Entry weapon and a very handy nightstand gun. As an emergency option in a close quarter’s situation, the Tromix Shark muzzle brake can also function as a non-lethal "persuader".
The Hammer's rear pistol grip is a Mossberg black synthetic checkered finger-notch model and the pump actuator fore-grip is an HK MP5K black synthetic ribbed front grip. Another advantage with the Hammer is that as an SBS ( versus an AOW ) it is legal to remove the pistol grip and attach a butt-stock. Any stock that fits a Mossberg 500 will fit the Hammer.
After obtaining several Hammers from C&S ( at a cost of $700 each ), I decided to create a "Premier Grade" version via the following customizations: First, Tony Rumore of Tromix Corp permanently attached his proprietary "Shark" breaching muzzle brake ( at a cost cost of $125 per barrel ). The Hammer was then sent to Robar Coating Technology of Phoenix, AZ who added; a Picatinny optics rail on top of the receiver, sling swivel studs, coated all internal parts with their proprietary NP3 coating - a combination of Teflon and satin nickel noted for its rust-proofing and self lubricating properties -- and then Robar beautifully finished the exterior in a matte black non-reflective Teflon ( at a cost of $650 per Hammer ). The finish is flawless...any blemish seen in the photos is caused by by reflective light.
The photo of the base model Ivan's Hammer ( the one with the tape measure and knife ) is included in order to provide a sense of scale. Three ( 3 ) 5rd robust steel box magazines are included with this Hammer; two mags are brand new and are Robar NP3 coated, the third mag is like new and in the original parkerized finish ( these mags sell for $200+ when available ). Also included is the original Baikal 81KM owners manual. The Hammers were not shipped in a dedicated factory box.
Also have very rare like-new Ithaca Stake-Out 20 gauge AOW and new Mossberg 590A1 12 gauge 3.0" AOWs for sale.
