Scarce Colt Marshal Model Revolver serial #838375, 38 Special, 4" barrel with an excellent bore. The Marshal is a scarce limited production revolver manufactured from 1954 to 1956 that is basically an Official Police with round butt frame. This beautiful gun retains about 99% original blue finish with limited high edge wear and handling marks. The service trigger and hammer retain full blue finish with bright sides. The fully checkered walnut factory round butt service grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions are numbered to the gun and rate excellent. The gun features a serrated ramp front sight, fixed rear sight and still times and locks up correctly. The serial numbers of Marshal Models had an "-M" suffix but this one lacks it. The firearm's features, serial number range and markings indicate this is a Marshal Model but the suffix was overlooked when the serial number was applied and not uncommon for Colt. This gun remains in excellent condition and appears to have seen little if any use. Colt's advertising marketed it as a rugged gun for the outdoorsman and it is unusual to find one in such fine condition. There is no box or papers.
