All of us were floored when we heard news last year that Tyler had gone belly up; and all of us were thrilled that the company rejuvenated itself under the capable, energetic hands-on management of Mr. Brian Matthews. Here is the original, still viable ergonomic grip revolver grip adapter. This one is the most traditional of all, the Tyler #8, to fit any Sturm Ruger Double Action Revolver. Magna Service grips are required, like the traditional Walnut Factory grips on our Native Tennessee Domiciled Speed Six in the photos, which is not for sale on this listing. Note that the fit is not perfect, but adequate, on the photo specimen. These grip adapters are a welcome addition to Ruger models Speed Six, Service Six, Security Six, and Redhawk, so long as those revolvers have service type Magna grips like the two specimens in our photos. They will Not fit GP-100, will Not fit Ruger Super Redhawk Revolvers, will Not fit SP-101 revolvers. They do Not fit Single Action Rugers, no Single Sixes, no Blackhawks, No Super Blackhawks, No Vaqueros. Shoppers who ask whether they will fit any of those will be assessed for a $10 contribution to Professor Elb’s Stupid Jar. Construction is not stainless steel; but rather polished aluminum alloy with copper alloy retaining tab assembly. Tylers provide support for the shooter’s middle and ring fingers, with enough space for the pinky to rest on the grip frame front strap. They also allow access to the strain screw without removing the grips. Their purpose is a better feel, but they also allow a much smaller grip circumference than Rubber or Combat grips, and they help allay muzzle flip with magnum loads. These grip adapters, with the above listed requirements, are relatively easy to install. All a person needs to do is loosen their revolver’s grip panel just enough for the copper tabs to fit around the grip frame’s front strap, slide it into place and then retighten the grip screws.
