“My Friend” single action revolver manufactured by James Reid in New York. Designed to be used with .22 short, this fine piece has a 7-shot cylinder with an excellent trigger mechanism and very good timing. This beauty earned the nickname “knuckle duster” as it doubled as a set of brass knuckles for self defense. The frame is made of brass and silver plated. We rate the overall finish at a conservative 80%. Research places the production date at approximately 1875. The frame is roll marked above the cylinder “My Friend Patd. Dec. 26, 1865”, serial number 12676 The cylinder base pin utilizes a left-hand thread and has the last two digits of the serial number stamped on the end.
