Description:
Here is an ordinary, early Reagan Era Charter Undercover .38 Special Revolver. From its 7200000 range serial number, it was manufactured in 1982. We sold it new, in fact, to its exclusive owner. The Honorable Aaron P. Paul Hodges served as Sheriff in our little Tennessee county of Chester from 1998 until 2002. Before that, he served as Chief Deputy from 1976 until 1998. This Charter Undercover was one of his three primary weapons during his career. Sheriff Hodges liked it, because it was almost as light as an Airweight Smith & Wesson, yet it had a steel upper frame that the Sheriff and many of his colleagues carried with Super Vel Ammunition in battery. From 1968 until 1972, our Sheriff Hodges served in the U.S. Air Force. One of Staff Sergeant Hodges’s tasks was operating one of the M-60s on an HH-53 Green Giant Helicopter. His most notable mission was during operation Kingpin, better known as the Son Tay Raid in November of 1970. Ssgt. Aaron P. Hodges is listed in much of the available literature on that raid, and it’s a safe bet that he gets more than one US Flag on his grave marker in Memorial Gardens south of Henderson, Tennessee. As far as the revolver itself, Type on this variant is traditional double- and single-action revolver with casehardened serrated spur hammer, and matching smooth faced combat trigger. Safety is internal transfer bar that guards against accidental discharges if the revolver is dropped. Grips are factory Charter walnut magna style service size; capacity is 5 rounds of .38 Special standard or +P ammunition. Unlike its lightweight competitors Smith & Wesson and Taurus, the main frame on Charters is steel, with an alloy grip frame / trigger guard assembly. Weight empty is 16 ounces. This specimen shows moderate, normal duty wear, sight scouring on its grip panels, forward edge whitening, and small amounts of freckling on its blue finish. We rate it as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity. It is excellent mechanically; bore, cylinder chambers and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We’re offering this serviceable, historical, and collectable Charter Undercover for only $ 389.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $12 lower 48; $40 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
