Description: The simple fact that this Single Shot Savage bears a 4 digit 9000 range serial number indicates that the manufacturer thought highly of it to begin with. Many Savage Single Shots were not serialized until BATF prompted the company to do so by 1970. Armorer Codes are the letters F D. That indicates a manufacture date of 1952 at the earliest, or 1954 at the latest. Production for the 219 series ran from 1937 until 1965. This specimen comes to us from the collection of one of our favorite Washington Mountain Dwellers. Manufacturer, of course, was Savage Arms Corp. of Chicopee Falls, MA, and the receiver is so marked on its left side. Barrel marking reads Proof Tested cal. .30-30, with SP and IL Proof marks on its left side chamber area. Type is internal hammer breech lever single shot, capacity 1 round of .30-30 Winchester caliber ammunition. Construction is blued steel barrel, breech lever, serrated base ramp type dovetailed-blade brass tipped front sight; and .210 smooth faced trigger, with alloy safety lever and trigger guard. Buttstock and forend are nicely grained American Walnut, glossy professional refinish with triple diamond maple inlay on the left side of the buttstock. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 1960s Pachmayr F325 white lined recoil pad. Rear sight is Williams alloy base and step, windate and elevation adjustable aperture type. Barrel has an original 3/8 groove over its chamber area, and has six drill and tap points one of which stabilizes the rear sight. The .380 - .385 chamber thickness amply supports drilling and tapping operations. Sling swivels are 1950s Williams barrel and stud type, permanent not QD. Barrel is 26 inch [25.75] with 1:12 right hand 6 groove rifling. Overall length is 41 3/8 inches; weight is 6 pounds 13.25 ounces with center of gravity at the action-barrel pin. Buttstock is NOT canted to the right, so this rifle will be southpaw friendly. Surface detractions are only moderate, principally gray wear to the anodized finish on the trigger guard and safety button; and with extensive but inconspicuous finish freckling to the barrel, less pronounced freckling on the receiver, which retains its original color casehardened finish very well. We rate this 219B as Very Good, 80 to 85 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are bright, clean, and excellent. We estimate this rifle has been fired no more than 500 rounds during its lifetime. Copper residue we removed from the barrel was minimal. This little old Lady is very sexy. We’re offering it for only $ 359.00. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $20 flat fee lower 48 states; $60 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, UPS Ground or USPS Priority with full insurance coverage. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
