20+ years ago, I bought this Post-War Bolo C96 directly from Navy Arms with the intention of refurbishing it to “new” and keeping it as a personal firearm. It was from the extra cost “Hand Selected” stock, for which I paid extra. When I received it, I had all the parts X Rayed by a competent steel inspection lab. I’ll give details if you send me a message. All parts were sound, original, and worthy of restoration back to shooting condition. I then relegated the pistol to the safe. Since then, my workload is such that I know I’ll never have time to rebuild it, so it’s up for sale.
All the interior lock parts show very little wear. The interior of the pistol has almost all the original finish, and the bore is in the usual shape of a Chinese-maintained C96. The Bolt Stop exterior was fine toothed filed to the original contour as this was where the Rockwell “punch” inspection indentation was made. The 21 groove wood grips may have been re-varnished, but they appear to be original to this pistol. The stock slot shows no use or abuse. I believe the lanyard ring it the original one as well. All the parts are numbered with the last 2 numbers of the serial number, and all match. Oberndorf proof marks. The numbers are the same type as the serial number, so I feel certain they are all original to the pistol. I’ll throw in the unused, unopened Wolff replacement springs I bought for the restoration, too.
Study the photos carefully, and I’ll answer any messages about this unaltered, all original, sound C96. Additional clear, sharp close up photos are available.
Although the pistol is C&R classed, I prefer to transfer to another FFL. USPS Money orders only.
Actual cost USPS to licensed FFL dealer.
Yes, but I reserve the right of pre-inspection.
