Description: Post-Election Armageddon Sale! Get'em while you can still buy'em!!!

This qualifies as C&R. Circa 1870’s-1880’s, Lee Arms Co./ Wilkes-Barre, PA, 32-caliber rimfire, 5-shot single-action pocket revolver. Overall length, 7". All original, complete, as-is.

Fluted cylinder revolver marked THE LEE ARMS CO., WILKES-BARRE, PA. across the top of the frame and RED JACKET No 4 across the top of the barrel. It has a 3-inch octagonal barrel, rifled. No date markings or serial number that I can find.

Fair condition throughout. All fully functional, crisp action. Original black celluloid checkered grips. Original bright nickle plating shows some wear, blued and checkered trigger.

This model was produced to compete with the Colt’s New Line pocket pistols that were so popular during that period. Very popular then with gamblers and ladies of the night, and still very popular by this maker in today's expanding field of collectible firearms of historical value.

ANTIQUE, no federal registration required. For black powder rimfire cartridges, now obsolete. The 4th edition of "Pistols of the World" by Ian V. Hogg and John Walker has a short paragraph on page 198: LEE ARMS COMPANY... Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, USA. A maker of cheap solid-frame sheath-trigger non-ejecting "Sucide Special" revolvers in 1880-9, succeeding the Pittson Arms Company(q.v.) The guns were marked Imperial, Red Jacket, Royal or Wm. Tell, and could be chambered for 22, 30 or 32 rimfire ammunition. Some will be marked with an 1881 patent date (this one is not), referring to improvements made by Roland Brewer, the factory Superintendent.

The company name was provided by its president,J.Frank Lee; there was no connection with the gun's designer,James Paris Lee. end of entry. There are no production figures.
