Top of octagon portion marked "MANUFACTURED BY THE / WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A." Adjacent receiver top flat marked "45-90 WCF". Mounted with straight grain walnut, uncheckered straight grip, Winchester steel buttplate, standard forend with nose cap. Accompanied with Cody Firearms Museum fact sheet identifying as 45-90 rifle, 1/2 octagon barrel type, 1/2 magazine, plain trigger, and shotgun butt. Received in warehouse January 6, 1891. Shipped from warehouse January 6, 1891, on order number 23826. CONDITION: Fine+. Bbl retains 95% original blue with minor muzzle wear and small rub mark on top flat behind rear sight. Receiver retains some original case colors on - sides and protected areas, thinning and blending with silver patina across bottom and forward edge. Hammer and lever show strong orig case colors with bottom of lever fading and blending with gray patina. The case colors are generally only most visable when viewed at certain angles of light. Stock is sound (no crack lines) with some minor nicks, dings & handling marks, retaining most of its orig finish. Forend is sound (no crack lines) with normal minor nicks, dings & handling marks, retaining orig finish blending with hand-worn patina. Forend cap and butt plate shows thinning of the case colors. Mechanics are crisp with bright shiny bore. The cost of shipping and insurance is $74.00.
